Topics covered by this course include foundations, operator theory, matrix mechanics, angular momentum, approximation methods, systems of identical particles, scattering theory and molecular structures and spectroscopy.

Assessment is by assignments, mid-semester test and final examination.
Prerequisites: M211 Quantum Theory, M314 Nuclear Particle Physics or admission to the Postgraduate Diploma in Physics.
